Description

Made from construction heart California redwood and fastened with dowel and peg style joinery this Chaise Lounge is ready for hours of sun bathing.

The design for this Modern Chaise Lounge came from the fall out on my Space Age Mounting Arm. I loved the shape and first used it on the Apollo Trellis to make the rocket ships. I had a piece setting on my desk for a year when I saw the same design on the badging for a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark lll that Jerry Seinfeld was driving in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. I still can’t find any information on that badging but someone in googie land thought of the design way before I did.

Dementions: 72" long, 24" wide, 15" high

Side table not included

Production and Lead-times of Bird Houses and Feeders: I make these items in batches in-between the production of other items in my shop. They're in stock most of the time but there are times where some sell out until the next run. When they do run out I put a longer lead-time on them to reflect the production date of the next batch. Custom colors on bird houses and feeders can cost up to twice as much due to shop time to make one offs.

Caring for your bird feeder: Your feeder has been shipped with one application of penetrating oil sealer. I recommend wiping the wood with a mixture of one part neutral mineral spirits to one part mineral oil every month during the feeder or birdhouses first year in the environment. Storing your feeder for the winter: At the end of the season remove all the seed and clean your feeder with a little soap and water on a sponge. When It’s dry, apply sealant before storing it indoors.

Caring for your modern planter: Your all wood planter will expand and contract during different seasons. It is normal for the side panels and miters to show this movement. Planter boxes have one coat of exterior deck sealer on them and you will need apply one coat every year at the end of the summer. I recommend wiping the wood with a mixture of one part neutral mineral spirits to one part mineral oil every month during the platers first year in the environment. Keeping the wood sealed will help make your planter box last. I do not hand select the wood for woodgrain orientation or color variation unless other arrangements have been made.

Solid Wood: I use solid wood in my work and that means its going to expand and contract with the elements. More stable manmade materials can not come close to the restorability and natural beauty of solid wood.

Tolerances on planters are within .50 inches and .25 on furniture and bird feeders/houses
