Description

Inspired by warm summer winds and sandy beaches, these beautiful white turquoise and brown Acai seeds are complimented with Swarovski crystal in this fun stacking set. The seeds have such gorgeous depth and variations in color that makes them incredibly versatile. And the turquoise is beautifully detailed with its mosaics. This is a great pair to be worn together or to mix and match with other bracelets in my collection.

The Legend of Acai

Belem is the capital of the state of Para in the northern part of Brazil that sits sentinel at the mouth of the Amazon. Many years ago, a prosperous tribe of Indians dwelled there and had grown so large in number that rivaling tribes were afraid to attack them. But during a rare and unexpected occasion, a drought hit in the Amazon River basin. Streams slowed to trickles, lush rainforest dried up, and food was now scarce and in short supply. The tribe had not prepared for such circumstances, and slowly the people were starving to death. Chief Itaki, the great hunter, after much worry for his people, came to the decision and announced that any child born would be sacrificed to prevent his tribe from growing larger. But shortly after this decree, he found out his only daughter, Iaca, was with child.

The day finally came when Iaca gave birth to her own beautiful daughter. It was a day of joy and a day of terrible sadness. With heavy hearts, the sweet baby was sacrificed. Iaca was inconsolable and distraught as she cried for three straight days and nights. She remained in her hut praying to Tupa the jungle God that she might show her father another way to help her people and save the tribe without sacrificing any more babies. Then one night as she prayed broken heartedly in her tent she heard the cry of a baby. As she came to the door of her hut she thought she saw her baby smiling, sitting at the base of a great palm bathed in the radiant light of the full moon. Without hesitation, she darted out into the moonlit night to hold her baby whom she had so dearly loved and missed. Iaca cuddled her tenderly then mysteriously her baby disappeared. Iaca was crushed as she cried mourning for the loss of her baby once again, only this time was too much and Iaca succumbed to a broken heart.

The next day Chief Itaki found her lifeless body, her arms wrapped around the trunk of a palm tree, her face was peaceful with a smile and her eyes were open and strangely fixed upon the upper branches of the palm. The great chief wept. Then Chief Itaki through the tears in his eyes followed the gaze of his daughter’s eyes up into the upper reaches of the palm tree where he saw thin finger-like branches covered in dark purple and black berries. He immediately ordered that the fruits be brought down from the top of the tree, and upon mashing the berries into a porridge, they found them it be palatable and sustaining, dampening the pangs of hunger that had haunted the tribes’ people. As more berries were found, the tribe was saved from malnourishment and death.

To honor his daughter, he named the berry Acai (Iaca spelled backwards) and rescinded the decree of death, saving the babies and the tribe from complete destruction. The tribe honored the great Chief Itaki as he lived the rest of his days in humility and gratitude for his daughter and granddaughter who had sacrificed their lives for the tribe.

Measurements
• Length: Comfortably fits a 6" to 6-1/4" wrist (adjusted upon request)
• White Turquoise: 10mm
• Acai Nuts: approx. 10mm
• Pave Crystal Ball: 10mm

Important Details
• To get the best fit possible, please leave your exact wrist measurement in the comments section at checkout. The best way to measure your wrist is with a fabric tape measure. The measurement should be taken at the smallest part of the wrist between the hand and wrist bone. If you don't have a fabric tape measure, you can use string and a ruler. You will need to wrap the string around your wrist and measure it. After you measure it, cut it to the length you measured. Wrap it around again and make sure that it is a perfect (not loose) fit. If it is loose and overlaps, cut again and double check, then send the final measurement. Please note, I cannot be responsible for faulty measurements.

All of our pieces are shipped Parcel Class USPS. Should you need the item sooner or prefer a different courier, please contact us.

United States Shipping:
I ship to all US addresses by USPS. Please provide a full street address or P.O. Box for shipping.
PAYPAL ORDERS: Please make sure the address on your PayPal account is your current accurate address.

International Shipping:
I ship internationally under the following conditions:

- I reserve the right to refuse to process any order or to refuse to ship to certain countries.

- Processing of international orders takes longer. Please allow 1-2 extra business days to accommodate this.

- Most orders are shipped by International First Class Mail. Delivery for most shipments is estimated by the US Post Office at 7-10 days. Although most parcels arrive in this time frame, there can be delays due to many factors including higher volume of mail, increased security concerns and time to clear customs. There have been instances of international parcels taking 3-4 weeks to arrive. I have no control over the postal services and therefore cannot guarantee arrival dates or give credit for delays in shipping.

- If your order does not arrive within 30 days, I can place a claim with the US Post Office for a lost parcel. Under US Postal regulations, this is the earliest I can ask for a claim inquiry. It can take an additional 30 days for the Post Office to investigate.

- Customs, Duty Tax and VAT - Your parcel may be subject to a customs, duty or VAT tax. The regulations concerning whether or not your order will apply vary by country and it is the obligation of the consumer to obtain information concerning these taxes and pay them if necessary. Additional policies

Variation:
Each piece we create will vary slightly in color from monitor to monitor. Our pictures are captured in a natural light to try and portray the piece as you would see it in front of you.

Custom Orders:
If you are liking what you see, but just can't find the right piece, we will happily take custom orders. Please contact us to let us know what you're looking for, and allow 3-6 weeks for allocating materials and construction. I require a $25 non-refundable deposit that will be used to cover the time it takes to create the piece, take photographs and come to a final design. There is no custom fee to switch a focal piece or metal, only to come up with a new design.

Bracelet sizing policy:
Accurate wrist measurement is incredibly important with bracelets for the best and most comfortable fit. If it is loose and overlaps, cut again and double check, then send me the final measurement.

If the measurements you provide are not accurate, or if this is a gift and you are not able to provide exact measurements, I will be happy to adjust the size for a fee of $15 (shipping is included). If it is a leather bracelet and the length needs to be extended, there will be a fee of $25 to cover the extra cost of silver and materials.
