Description

I always loved the Big Little Books when I was a kid -- I read them all and wish I had kept my collection but unfortunately I did not. When I ran across this book in a nearby antique store last weekend, I was thrilled. Not only because it is illustrated by Richard Scarry, but because I have never seen this storybook by Kathryn Jackson before. This is a rare find and my research has found this edition going for as much a $68! I'm pricing this to sell -- a great edition for your collection.

The back of the book states:

SPRINGTIME TALES
The freshness of spring is on every page of SPRINGTIME TALES. The winds of March, the fun of Easter, and the wonderful excitement of the first flowers are all brought to life in Kathryn Jackson's gay stories and poems and Rchard Scarry's amusing pictures. This little book meaures 5" x 3-3/4" x 7/8". It is in very good vintage condition although there are a few small nicks on the glossy paper colored boards and light peeling of the clear plastic coating on the edges of the spine.

There are 247 clean, lightly tanned pages plus the contents and 3 pages listing other books in this series. This is book #6078 and is marked .59¢ on the upper right-hand corner of the cover. The copyright page lists: Copyright 1955 by Western Publishing Co., Inc. All rights reserved. Printed in the USA. 1967 Edition.

The illustrations in this book are wonderfully whimsical; pics appear on most of the pages -- many are in full color but there are also black and white illustrations as well as several drawings in black and blue.
