A mystical wolf sits a top of a rock outcrop and howls at the night sky where the stars turn and untold energies reside with a huge moon that shines over all. No mater if you feel that wolf is your totem or spirit animal or if you just have an affinity for wolves, this pendant is for you. The symbolism of the wolf includes that of a teacher and guardian, it also represents loyalty and strong spirit. The wolf is a pathfinder and a forerunner of new ideas. The scrolls and swirls on the wolf and in the background show the mystical nature of this spirit animal.

The overall totem animal pendant size is 1 7/8 inches tall by 1 inch wide, the bail with stone accent is 1/2 of an inch wide, the wolf medallion is 1 inch round. The stone that is shown is a Rainbow Moonstone which is a wonderful symbol of the moon although there are a wide selection of stones available, all stone cabochons are 8mm round. If there is a stone that you would like that isn't listed please contact me and I will try to get it for you. There are also two different tube bails that are available for the spirit animal pendant priced at $148.00; the swirls in the background of the deer are echoed in the swirl tube bail or you may choose the log tube bail (shown on model) which is perfect for the woodland theme of the animal pendant. All bails accept a thick 4mm cord and are Pandora friendly. Want to keep it simple? Contact me if you want the deer medallion on a simple jump ring for $98.00. A dark patina has been applied to enhance the detail and give contrast to this magical piece of fantasy jewelry. The angled view of the woodland pendant shows the dimension of the piece.

As with all of my work this piece of woodland jewelry is my original design was created using the lost wax method. I first start by doing a detailed drawing of my intended subject. Then I sculpt my design in wax. I start with overall shape and form, then adding detail such as facial features, fur and scrolls. After the wax sculpture is complete it is cast in sterling silver, excess metal is removed, rough polished, linked together, soldered, patina applied, then completed by a final polish and a coating of Renaissance Wax for a soft satin glow. It is a time consuming process, but one that I thoroughly enjoy. For more detailed information on my wax sculpting and casting process go to www.mysticswan.biz and look at the "Creation Process" and "Wax Sculpting" sections. The only purchased parts of this handmade fantasy necklace is the jump ring and leather cord.

While visually they look vastly different, the inspiration for this collection of spirit and totem animals was born of my Frolicking Faerie Collection. I was so happy with the way the faeries looked dangling from the jump rings on the pendants and necklaces that I wanted to add spirit animals to the group. My obstacle with this idea was an aesthetical one; unlike faeries animals don't have hair to link with a jump ring, nor wings (with the exception of birds) and most don't hang from a leg. My solution was to design the animals on medallions which let me use an entire animal or just the head and also gave me room to include a bit of background. Before I discovered mystical realms I was fascinated with animals which were my main subject matter. This collection of spirit animals has given me the opportunity to rediscover that love and add a mystical element to it. I am thoroughly enjoying my reunion with the animals and plan to have between 30-40 different creatures available. There will also be necklace designs allowing a person to wear multiple totem animals at once. I hope my love for this work shines through in the spirit of the animals.

Take the magical energy of this totem animal with you into everyday life.
