Description

100% solid idigbo turned wood wand, measuring a little under 30 cm or 12". Idigbo comes from Africa and is yellow in colour. The wavy woodgrain pattern makes it reminiscent of blonde hair in my opinion.

This turned wand comes in a presentation/gift box - let me know if you have a colour preference of the tissue paper inside and I'll see what I can do! :)

Cut, turned on a lathe, filed, sanded, sanded some more, burned (bottom end only), and finished off with a coating of clear beeswax/linseed oil mix to protect the wood.

Colour variations are due to the wood itself.

Wand created: 2015

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

* Due to being unable to use twigs that I would normally use for my whittled wands, the wood has been bought in especially for the sake of woodturning. The supplier states that they "have an ethical purchasing policy ensuring that the natural environment, in particular the biodiversity and sustainable production of forests is considered of the utmost importance".

* NOTE: Countries like Australia and New Zealand operate strict import restrictions on wood and other natural items. Parcels to these countries are more likely to get stuck in customs and incur additional charges payable by the customer/recipient.

FAQs

The diameter of the wands are measured at the tip and the very bottom of the handle. Approximate diameter measures in inches:
5 mm = 3/16"
10 mm = 6/16"
15 mm = 9/16"
20 mm = 3/4"
25 mm = 1"
Use a clear oil suitable for wood, or beeswax.

The wood might change in colour as it ages. This is a natural process.

Bark handles with natural green details will fade in time when handled (this might not be the case with ones that have been lacquered) or if exposed to sunlight.
Yes, partial refunds are available when buying more than one wand at the same time, if they're all being shipped to the same address. The refund is based off final postage costs, so can only be done after the package has been sent.
Oiled wands can be burned with e.g. a name or a symbol, and/or they can be lacquered and/or have woodstain put on them. Just let me know ASAP - preferably in the "message to seller" box when ordering. Please note that customisations will delay shipping with up to two working days.

I do NOT offer replicas of Pottermore or official Harry Potter wands.
