Vintage top handle handbag made of a fabric with crewel wool embroidery in two shades of green and three shades of red, and handles and base of black leather. The embroidery looks Indian or Central Asian to me, kind of like kirim. The bottom has four metal 'feet' to protect the leather. It is a nice, solid bag, and makes a wonderful accessory for a 50s bohemian look.

I don't know the date of this bag. It belonged to my grandmother in the early 1960s. .

Good used condition. Two moth holes as shown in photo #5 and minor wear around the bottom edge. There is a little scuffing on the four silver ball 'feet' underneath the stiff oval bottom. The handles have minor, superficial cracking. The leather is heavy enough that the handles should last another 10 years at least. I have polished the leather. The fabric lining is entirely intact, no stains or rips.

No label inside. The interior seams of the fabric and lining suggest that the bag was more folkloric than high fashion. It's nice and solid, with good-quality heavy leather.

Width at top: 10 inches
Height: 13 inches plus 3 inches additional for the handles.
Circumference at bottom of bag: 24 inches

The high shipping price is due to the size (12 inches on each side).
