About 1100 AD someone unknown, probably living in south of France invented a new game using tablemen on a chequered Chess board with the moves of Alquerque. The game had 12 game pieces per player as Alquerque.

When a compulsion rule to take an opponent’s piece was set up in France about 1535 the name changed from Dames to Jeu Force.

Modern English Draughts is the Jeu Force of the 16th century.

The early settlers took the game to North America where it is known as Checkers.

Each board is made of 11-ply premium ¾" (1.895 cm) thick Birch plywood for long-term durability. Since wood is a natural product, each board has a unique grain making it one-of-a-kind. The boards are sold stained. The stained boards are satin clear-coated for maximum protection and easy cleaning. Each game comes with two sets of distinctly colored game pieces as well as detailed rules and how-to-play instructions booklet. The colors of game pieces are subject to availability.
