Description

1970's crochet pattern PDF vintage to make a woman's Cloud Shawl. Soft, lightweight and airy, with a turned down collar and lacy border. Worked in worsted weight yarn on a US size H crochet hook at a gauge of 15 dc & 8 rows = 4" over pattern.

Finished length of shawl is:
35" with collar turned back

You will need approx. the following amount of worsted weight yarn to make this shawl:
1,300 yards

Note: To achieve the same light, ethereal quality in your finished shawl, you'll want to take care when choosing a modern substitute yarn. The original vintage yarn called for was Bucilla "Melody", which was a blend of 50% Mohair, 50% Acrylic. The mohair content gave it its light and lofty hand. You could of course make a a heavier, more substantial shawl if you so chose, as well, by choosing a denser yarn. I think this pattern would be equally lovely in a silky, mercerized cotton in a vibrant color. :)

This pattern is written using US/American crochet terminology (as are all of the crochet patterns in my shop unless otherwise noted in item description). For those of you who learned crochet with UK/Australian terminology, a term conversion chart is included in the pattern.

You will need to have Adobe Reader (or a similar program) installed on your computer in order to view and/or print the PDF file. If you do not already have it, it can be downloaded for free at: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

Pattern will be available as an instant download PDF as soon as payment processing is complete. For useful info on how instant downloads work on Etsy (including how and where to access them) see Etsy's help page:
