Description

This is a photograph of one of the phases of my fiber art project, "52 Forms of Fungi", and the particular species depicted is velvet foot fungus. This particular installation was also a part of Succession, a group exhibition of site specific installations at the Old Lumber Yard in Norman, Oklahoma. Find out more about this exhibition here:

http://www.bromeleighad.com/search/label/succession

52 Forms of Fungi is a series I began in 2013, which includes a different species of fungi realistically knitted and placed in situ for every week of the year. I took on this project as a creative exercise with an additional goal of encouraging a greater awareness of our natural surroundings. To view phases from this project, check out my blog:

Both 5" x 7" and 8" x 10" prints are available. The photo is printed with matte finish on professional paper which according to the printing studio "boasts a sharp, rich color that won't fade or yellow, creating beautiful prints that will last for years to come." Prints are matted in white.
