Description

This beautiful vintage wedding gown is in close to perfect condition. I am no expert on fabric, but I believe this is ivory satin, in a honeycomb pattern. It is a vintage dress, probably from the 1940s. It has a shawl, or rolled collar neckline, topped by netting. The same satin is around the very top of the neck. There is a peplum adorning the waist. It has 25 satin covered buttons down the back, with satin loops for closure. There is a hook and thread closure at the very top. The sleeves are slightly pointed, and close with two snaps each. There is a hook to form a bustle, but I'm not sure what it is supposed to hook to. This is a beautiful gown at a great price.

This is a vintage item, which I have represented as best as I can. There may be other flaws I am not seeing. You are purchasing it "as is".

Measurements:

This is definitely a small, or extra small size gown.

I did actually measure the gown, but since I'm not a seamstress, measurements may be 1/2" to 1" off. I did my best to represent it accurately. There is no tag in the gown to indicate size, and I'm not sure if it was a store purchase or a gown that was made at home from a pattern. It drapes very nicely when worn.

Waist: 27 "
Neckline to waist: 15"
Bust: 34:
Sleeves - Underarm to wrist - 18". ---Shoulder to point - 22 1/2"
Skirt length in front: 39"
Length of train - measured from waist - 77"
Width of train at its widest point - 76"
Wrist - 7" circumference

Condition - please see last two pictures - There are a few loose threads, a small hole in the net on the back, a 1" piece of the hem has come undone. There are light stains under each arm. I've tried to show all these (except the loose threads) in the pictures.

I am not an expert on fabric, but I've tried to examine this thoroughly. If you would like more pictures, I will be happy to provide them. Just ask!

FAQs

I try to list sizes - length, height, and width in all my listings. Please look there first. If you need more information, please contact me.
I recycle when I package, if possible. I sometimes re-use boxes to keep shipping costs down. I use bubble wrap and other padding materials to help ensure safe delivery.
For most items, my prices are firm. If you are buying more than one of the same item (ex: 4 matching plates) feel free to ask about a discount, although I cannot guarantee I will be able to provide that.
I do offer some clothing in my shop. I am not a seamstress and do my best to measure each item accurately. Please contact me if there is a measurement you need that is not listed.
I do my best to research each item to find out when it was made. Sometimes I can remember the item from when I was a child, which gives me a general date range. I also use marks and tags on the items to try to provide accurate dates. If I have a unique item that I cannot find any information on, I will default to marking it as simply Vintage.
I have many items that are not yet listed. If you are looking for something specific, I may just have it.
