Description

Aboriginal Emu... I went halfway around the world seeking out another indigenous people to honor. Just as our Native Peoples, they uphold their spiritual and cultural presence for the world to see. The Aborigines of Australia have a very unique and very colorful way of existing. Along with an elders face, I used traditional Aboriginal images and symbol work to honor them. As I have found, in New Mexico, their country is a very magical place, indeed. So, I attempted to re-create some of their existence...here...
This piece of artwork begins with an emu egg and how I love the avocado color! This egg was created from an empty and uncut emu egg. The emu is a bird native to Australia... The Emu egg has many fascinating features. Not only is it deep black and larger than most eggs out there compared to other egg laying animals, but it is also designed to be stronger than most other eggs. The main reason for this is because of the harsh conditions these animals and eggs in nature would have to deal with. Desert type climate, extreme weather, predators and many more defenses. You can tell an emu egg by it's large size and greenish black color. It's about the size of a grapefruit (about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2"). The emu egg comes in several shades of greenish black. The emu egg is used uniquely as backgrounds for fine artistic paintings such as this one.

This egg will be carefully packed and shipped as the shipping price reflects. I will include a plain display stand.

This emu egg is black, 5 3/4 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches across, 12 1/4 inches in circumference.

FAQs

The section called Gallery CUSTOM from Sold is to help customers wanting a custom-made bag to find similar bag ideas. Select one of these and I will make a CUSTOM bag for you similar to it or of the same subject matter. The bag color is of my choice but I will try to accommodate a special request. These bags cannot be duplicated, obviously, being one-of-a-kind creations. Once a custom-made order is placed there are no exchanges, new selection or return.
Earthwayspirits medicine bags are hand crafted and hand painted, one of a kind. The craftmeanship of the leather pouch is substantial. The beading is secured with polyester threat to prevent breaking. The painting, however, will not withstand misuse of any kind; stretching, scraping or exposing it to any liquids. I use a fabric paint sealant to make the paint and ink more adherant. Under normal wear and tear, earthwayspirits medicine bags should last years. Store in a dry, dark and cool place...
Allow me 8 days to create your medicine bag and then add shipping time. Please inquire through Etsy messaging if you would like to request a specific color leather or beading be used, only if available.
