Vintage White Metal Buckle Half – I usually hate to get half of something, especially when that something is jewelry. But I don’t feel too badly about this one. It IS half a belt buckle (took me awhile to research that out), but with the hook at the top, it would be very easy to use it as a pendant.

I am not sure that the stones are original – but the stones that are there work together, look like they could be original and in fact, the rhinestones are showing some aging. There is one tiny rhinestone missing, and you have to hunt to find it. (see photo) I don’t have any rhinestones that will match, otherwise I’d ask if you wanted me to fill it in for you. The piece is 1 7\/8 inches long and 1 3\/8 inches at the widest point.

This piece was made by The White Metal Casters Association and has their mark on it (WMCA). From what I read, the WMCA made jewelry for many companies, and the “T&C” also stamped on the back no doubt represents one such company. It’s a lovely old piece and is made from White Metal which was the WMCA’s own discovery in the late 1920s.

Loaded with bezel set crystal rhinestone and a large center cabochon of brilliant red. This piece is not in the greatest condition, but has such history and would make a really great pendant. There is not a lot of jewelry out on the market by this company. This piece was made most likely during the Great Depression or early in WWII. It’s a part of our history. Make it part of yours. $10.00 and free shipping!

If you are like me, you like vintage jewelry because it’s clever, endearing and a link to the past. Some of these pieces I offer will be in near perfect condition, but more often, will show subtle marks of their age and gentle signs of wear. That’s just a part of the charm of vintage jewelry. Please study the pictures and descriptions carefully. I have tried to accurately describe each piece, and tell you the good, the bad, and the not very ugly. That said, vintage jewelry is like that last, favorite doll – faded, well loved, and somewhat worn. But never to be forgotten.
