Description

Pigeons and Peace Doves by Matthew J. Hall is a new poetry chapbook, the second Blood Pudding Press Contest Winning Poetry Chapbook of 2015, newly published in June 2015.

It includes thirteen gorgeously written, emotionally rendering poems by Matthew J. Hall that are "representative of a...self-destructive struggle, an internal struggle which...takes place within the thought process".

It is Matthew J. Hall's first poetry chapbook.

The cover art was created by Mary Erb.

It is dedicated to Peppers.

Bios for the poet and the cover artist appear below - preceded by lines from the first poem in the collection:

"this morning when I was sleeping
and you pulled two extra blankets up to my chin
I dreamt you were standing over me with a basket of flowers

the stems had been removed
and the heads were vibrant and heavy
deep reds and dark purples
vanilla yellows and impossible whites

you were dropping them on my bed
as a gesture of love
and the maggots of my recurring nightmare
turned tail, all in a slither of retreat"

from the poem "She Sedates the Rhino"
