Standard pickups are my Blueprint humbuckers. Electrically similar to a mini humbucker, but with no adjustable pole pieces, and no backplate. The bobbins are wrapped in copper foil which shields everything and grounds the pole pieces. Usually they run between 6K and 7K ohms. Pickups are placed more or less at the guitars center of mass, close to what is normally called the neck position.

Current standard finish is a gun stock oil varnish with rottensone ground on the more porous woods like Mahogany. I normally bring the body up to a satin sheen, and the necks have the thinnest possible buildup, giving them a very fast, natural feel.. I can also do a "Barn Burst" on the lighter colored woods like poplar and pine, which is painted with milk paint and then sanded back to make it look like old barn wood. I am also now offering a flat acrylic finish. I'll consider other finishes if I think I can pull it off.

Dave makes a great guitar. I'm lucky enough to own #72. It's a mahogany body with a camaru neck. I can't explain how beautiful this guitar is. The pictures do no justice to this wood. The sound is clear, beautiful, and has sustain for days. Worth every penny and more. Thank You Dave!

I am the proud owner of PoorBoy #135. The communications were smooth. Dave really was helpful and patient with helping me pick the right guitar. The guitar was delivered on time as promised. The build quality is impeccable. Neck joint feels solid and secure. Smooth neck, smooth fret ends and polished frets. Nicely contoured body, no sharp edges. It just feels good to hold the guitar. The pick up sounds creamy. There are no knobs, no switches, or trim bar to distract you. So you can just focus on your music. This is one of the nicest guitars I have ever played. Do not hesitated to get yourself a WeirGuitar.

Tremendous guitar! Excellent seller! Great communication before, during, and after the sale. I have never played a guitar quite like this. The neck feels like it was made for my hands. The body is extremely comfortable. This instrument represents all of the things the big guitar companies SHOULD be doing: innovative original bridge design; precise fretwork all the way up the neck; no extra frills, just beautiful handwork and amazing tone. This guitar has instantly become my main instrument. Thanks Dave!

I purchased the Poorboy #111. I love it. It's clean and simple yet really well done. It feels great and plays lots of styles nicely. I really am surprised at how much I like the Goncalo Alves neck having never played one before. I'm already thinking about getting the Instigator! Thanks Dave!
