~~BIRTH OF "A DYING PRIDE"~~
(From concept to completion)
This piece, and accompanying 'Bones of Religion' series was born out of religious reflection with a satirical edge. The first piece as a 'serious artist' attempting to take their skills to the world;-
Extreme detail, realism with a surreal & juxtaposed twist. My musings at the time:
We are entering an age where the value of religion is lessening. A response to the growth of both new-age spiritualism and societal consumerism/materialism.
"A Dying Pride",
(Lions are vulnerable to becoming endangered, reference to Christ symbolism, and the lessening of religious values).
This reflection comes from my own inner battle between Faith and the Future;
To hold on to our traditional values or evolve with technology?
