Necklace length: 24 Inches; Pendant height: 15/16 Inches

This domed coin necklace was made from an Arizona, U.S State quarter dollar coin dated 2008. The coin features a Saguaro cactus in front of an image of the Grand Canyon. Separating the two images is a banner reading "Grand Canyon State" to signify that the Saguaro cactus does not grow in the canyon. Visible are the inscriptions "Arizona" and "1912." After I drilled the coin, I domed, cleaned, and polished it. Buffing and polishing brought out the beautiful image that you see. This is truly a unique piece of coin jewelry. The quarter hangs from a bright silver rhodium plated cable chain with a lobster clasp.

In 1999 the United States started minting quarters for the 50 State Quarters Program. This initiative continued through 2009. All states of the United States were celebrated on individual quarters. The images on the coin highlight special features about the state. The designs are beautifully rendered. Since the state quarters will never be minted again, they are collectible. A unique gift for many reasons, especially those native to Arizona, have fond memories of a Grand Canyon visit, or desert dwellers.

Although Arizon is pictured, please choose the state of your choice when placing your order.

The circulated quarter is 15/16 inch (24mm) in diameter and in excellent condition. It is suspended by a sturdy ring from a 24 inch (60.9cm) rhodium plated cable chain secured by a lobster clasp.
