Description

This is the 1893 edition of "The Poetical Works of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.” This book was rare for its year as it was published by Wm. L. Allison Company; I’ve had difficulty finding other copies of this exact text. The book is in good condition, with wear to the spine. The pages are very delicate as well. Please make sure you take the time to look at the picture to see the condition of the book! Additionally, this collection of poetry is hardcover with green cloth.

If you are unfamiliar with Longfellow, he is an American author who was born in Maine. His mother happened to be the daughter of a Revolutionary War hero…perhaps this is why he authored one of his most famous poems, “Paul Revere’s Ride!” His first collection of poems was published when he was only 32 years old, and his poetry dealt with people triumphing against all odds. Longfellow was going through a lot himself (his wife died and then another woman refused his proposal), which proved to be inspiring for his writings. (She finally said yes…and they proved to be some of the happiest times of Longfellow’s life.)

If you are interested in the text, please do not hesitate to ask any questions!
