Description

Toronto is Canada's largest city, it's true, but deep down it's really a mashup of smaller, unique neighbourhoods with a small town feel. Once declared "the hippest place to dine, drink, shop and live", Leslieville is historically home to light industry and Toronto's Film District. Gentrifying rapidly, L'ville now boasts endless fantastic restaurants, pubs, bars, and a whole lot of coffee shops. It's a great place to work and live.

This print is based on a map of Leslieville, showing a slightly abstract view of the rail line and other major routes and roads in the area.

============
This is an very limited edition original, hand carved block print, NOT a digital reproduction. I used the "reduction print" method for this image - the block was carved and used to print the golden orange-yellow layer, then re-carved to print the dark green layer. This means the printing block was destroyed in the process of creating the prints, and no more can ever be made.
============

Each print is inked and pulled by hand, making it truly unique and one of a kind.

Image: Leslieville
Image size: approx 4" x 4"
Paper size: 6" x 6"
Edition: 15

This print measures 6" x 6" for easy framing. It is printed on medium weight, 100% cotton, acid free paper, using environmentally friendly archival and colourfast Caligo Safe Wash relief inks.

Gorgeous collagraph with a lovely texture that deserves to be displayed in a prominent place - I've ordered a custom-made spacer frame to show it off. Thanks Deb!
