The instructions were fantastic! I made some modifications to mine as I went along. I only added one window as those stated on the instructions were not available in my area. I also changed my chicken coop door to the side due to how I wanted it in my backyard. I don't have a large yard so I had to modify it to where I can have the access I wanted.
This was a really fun build. Not necessarily an easy build due to all of the angles, but fun. The plans were pretty easy to follow with nice diagrams. It took me and my two brother in law's about four days working off and on to build. Not counting trim work, caulking, and paint. Me and my 9 chickens really like it. It cost us around $1,000 in materials more or less. I ordered shed windows from Amazon that worked out perfectly. The rest came from Home Depot.
Loved how cute this turned out. We made a few modifications and built with 2x4s instead of 2x3 because we had scrap lumber.
Finished this project recently. I in Canada and it cost approx $1200 in materials excluding paint. I will be adding shingles to the nest box lid as we’re in a cold wet climate. This was my very first woodworking project and found the instructions simple to follow and so happy with the results.
