My husband bought my first coop and built a nice walk-in run. When I ordered too many chicks the following year, he refused to build a bigger coop and said I was on my own. These plans were perfect. I’m pretty handy but had no framing or roofing experience, and I found the directions spot-on. Although I said I wouldn’t, I made a ton of changes. I added a 2’x2’ swing out window on the back wall, swapped the pop and people doors, opened the eave peaks for extra ventilation, and made shutters instead of buying pre-made windows. I also made a guillotine-style pop door that opens from the outside with a pull cord. I could have been done in 2 weekends if it wasn’t for the changes and the metal roofing. My husband was only needed to help hang the door and bigger siding pieces. Excellent plans!

This saved us so much time! We did do some modifications, but it was still amazing! (We made it taller, made the front drop down, and made the roosts removable.)

This was an amazingly simple set of instructions to follow. This was a fun project and my flock of 10 (including two silkies) LOVE IT. I added a small ladder inside to help the two silkies get to the roosts, and I shingled the nesting box roof/lid. What a great set of plans! THANK YOU

Love this plan - the separate nesting boxes are awesome, very aesthetically pleasing, we get tons of compliments on it. Wishing some of the directions and diagrams were slightly clearer, some of the steps we had to guess at next steps (I feel confident in that department but may not be so for a beginner). We ended up reducing the number of roosts and Stapled a chain for our waterer and feeder into one of the roof truss’. We had to modify the window a bit, the sizes we wanted were sold out everywhere. We also added vents onto the opposite side for increased air flow. Overall a great coop and our girls love it! Would definitely recommend!
