PiCano is a Meccano alike "VESA mount" and "bracket" case for Raspberry Pi.
The PiCano case was conceived for those who have a taste for design and a need of a firm quality case that offers VESA mount and bracket capabilities, this without having to order extra parts. It also offers stacking and layering possibilities.
The case is made of high quality materials like, aluminium, acrylic and the small parts are plated machine steel. It's laser cut and has countersunk screws to prevent damage to the back of your screen. Because of the Meccano alike assembly of the case it can easily be recycled entirely, and is provided with a clear assembly manual.
At the 4 corners of the case, there are M4 spacer bolts who will act as VESA mount connections. Loosening the M4 allen bolts and removing the soft PVC feet from the spacer bolts, makes then rotate freely so the case can be mounted on the back of a VESA mount screen. When removing the allen bolts entirely PiCano can even be mounted in between a screen and a wall mount. In that case PiCano serves like a bracket and will hold the entire weight of your screen.
During this mounting action (with the M4 VESA spacers loosened) the case will be held together by the 4, M3 spacer assemblies which are situated more to the middle, and have countersunk screws to prevent damage the back of your screen! PiCano can also control the alignment of your wiring, so the do not go all over the place, making the whole setup look professional. You can add extra layers for a project, hard drive, or attache other VESA mount devices as long as the use the 100x100 mm VESA mount standard.
The case dimensions of the case are;
VESA mount dimensions; 100x100mm.
Total external dimensions; 120x120x41mm.
Without the feet and the allen bolts, as used in between VESA mounts; 120x120x27 mm.
Note that the case looks much slimmer then the dimensions suggest because of the way it is designed
