Some years ago, as the story goes, a child with a CF diagnosis pronounced the disease "sixty five roses". From that time on a benefit has been held in Detroit with the same name. Each of the quilts I make has sixty five roses in them, between the blocks, borders and the hand quilting detail.
This lap quilt measures 45x45 inches. The two tone pink Rose of Sharon blocks were done with needle turn applique and then hand blanket stitched. The alternate solid blocks are hand quilted with the mirror image. The hand quilting is done stitch in the ditch around the blocks and the Rose of Sharon Blocks are shadow quilted.
The outer border of this quilt has a free form green vine with three dimensional pink applique rose buds. The quilting is done along the vines and in a 2 inch grid behind them.
This made to order quilt design is available in your choice of sizes and colors.
I have done this quilt in two tone blue, purple, yellow, red and sage greens. They were equally as beautiful!
Thank you for stopping by to see this very special Rose of Sharon quilt. -Cindi
