Description

This is our Trenton Miniature Blanket Chest that can be used as a stitching or sewing box. I am sure there can be many other uses for this fine early American piece because of the large storage underneath the removable Till or tray. This chest is actually a reproduction from a picture that I received from a fellow artisan who is a Master Teacher and designer of needle work. I have been wanting to build a nice small blanket chest and am very happy to have been given this opportunity. This is a very striking and impressive small piece of furniture that has a variety of utilitarian value. For this particular one, I have painted the inside and the tray/till the color of olde ivory to offer this option to our customers instead of a dark brown or black stain that comes standard with each piece.

Color:
Cranberry Red over Lamp Black -nicely distressed primitive

Dimensions: outside at lid(top)
H- 9 3/4''
W- 14''
D- 8 1/4''

"I have been blessed in having two professions, that of a school teacher for 37 years, and a woodworker through these retiring years.

The products from "The Barn Woodshop" are made through hard work and good will with hope that these wood pieces will provide a warm and pleasing appearance. At the present, making wood furniture and accessories to appear as from times past demands a great deal of attention, but also provides much enjoyment. I attempt to capture early American designs and folk art from the 18th and 19th centuries. I do this for all of us who honor the simpler days of America's past.

Our Father provides the trees and perseverance which is required to continue in this work. The wood products are inspired by Him - He who is above all things."

-D.H. DuBois

The Barn Woodshop is the grandfather/grandson team of Don and Zach DuBois. Located on our family farm in Elkhart, IN, we specialize in primitively finished, handmade, wood home furnishings and accessories. Our unique, primitive finish is the result of Don's quest to develop a wood finish which embodies the primitive Early American, rustic feel. After years of hard work and dedication, we feel that he has developed the “secret sauce” which will satisfy the cravings of customer’s seeking to furnish their home with new, handmade décor encapsulating the authentic, timeworn feel of a bygone era.

*All of our products are primitively finished with "Olde Century Colors" paint, unless otherwise noted.

**Some of our product listings are not currently in stock, but will be CUSTOM built once you purchase the item. Please contact Zach to further discuss the time frame for delivery and the desired color of items not in stock.

I would give this item many more stars, if available. The workmanship is OUTSTANDING!!!! The distressing, color, and small hinges are exactly what I wanted. This is very antique looking, fitting perfectly in my home. I would not think twice about ordering again from The Barn Woodshop.
