Visual Patterns, for Visual people.

Pattern number four, hundreds to come that we are releasing to the public - The FORESTER TUNIC - which is a fabulous and very individual machine-knitted Tunic, with sleeve instructions included.

Anne Lavene's inspired and innovative DIAGRAMS that make it simple and clear to see how to create this beautiful garment.

The yarn used in the pictured cream Tunic is two strands of Yeomans 100% Cotton CK2 Slub in natural cream. Just by changing the colours of the yarn used can create a completely different look, after the finished Tunic has been dyed in a domestic washing machine, using a Dylon dye.

The weight of yarn needed = 600 grams in total - Knitting two strands together ( Two 300 gram cones ) This amount includes knitting the included sleeve option !

Tension gauge.
A friend knitted this design, then gave me these details.
= 26 stitches to 10 cm on T9 & 33 rows
She uses a Jones Brother.
Please let me know if these figures make sense and are helpful to you ?
I just use measurements for sizing. As this, and many of my designs are knitted sideways, and the diagrams are Visual, I have found it easy to increace or decrease the sizing. Let me know if help is needed tho !
Anne :)

The machine I use is an old Knitmaster 323 ( yep ! Still going ) Single bed Machine. The measurements of the finished Tunic, once steamed, crocheted, washed and steamed again are:

From shoulder to hemline 39inches 99.2 cm
Bust 40inches 101.7 cm ( laying flat, of course will stretch making hemline shorter - or on smaller bust the hemline will be longer )
Shoulder to Bottom of V neckline 10 inches 25.5 cm
Shoulder to armpit 11 inches 28 cm ( with extra steaming )
Hips up to 45 inches 114.3 cm ( larger hips, or larger bits inbetween the bust and hips - will shorten the hemline, as with the bust measuturements - the hemline will be shorter on the wearer. )

Look forward to seeing pictures, of you in your Forester Tunic. Anne

This PDF download also comes, with added sleeve instructions as well - Another idea to make another garment is to simply, ' Add ' a collar, and leave the front open for a stylish Jacket.

Absolutely love Anne’s method! Her videos to explain the symbols on her patterns are a “must watch “and are very well executed. Lightning and sound are excellent and professional done and easy to follow. I especially enjoyed seeing Anne in action! Will definitely be buying more!
