Description

Time was.......when children needed to help with the "chores" every day because it took longer for EVERYONE'S work than it does today. The dads often worked from dawn to dusk and it took a very long time for the mothers to take care of the house, the garden, and babies and very small children AND make the meals for everyone every day. Most children went to school, but when they came home they were assigned chores (jobs like feeding the chickens, fetching water, bringing wood from the wood pile for the fireplace or stove or jobs to help the mother with the meal preparations, such as cleaning the vegetables , setting the table, and keeping their little brothers and / or sisters amused until it was time to sit down to eat.) Oh yes, chores were work, but everyone had chores of one kind or another and everyone knew they would get a good supper and the satisfaction of knowing they had helped and they were needed and they were BIG!

This woodcut/serigraph is an original limited edition print all hand done by the artist in oil based inks on paper. It is matted to 16" x 29 1/2", an interesting horizontal piece for most walls. I have titled and signed it in pencil and I hold he artist copyright.
