Dreaming New Meanings into Borderline Personality Disorder

♥ The Collective Tarot ♥

The Collective Tarot: A Magical Collaboration is a limited edition deck focused on social justice, prison abolition, anti-capitalism, anti-racism, & anti-oppression. The traditional suits of Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles (or Fire, Water, Air, and Earth), are re-imagined as Keys, Bottles, Feathers, and Bones. The traditional Phase cards of Page, Knight, Queen, and King are re-created as Seeker, Apprentice, Artist, and Mentor. The Collective Tarot was created by a collective of radical queers, people of colour, mad & disabled folks, writers & artists, trans folks, dreamers, and survivors.

♥ About Me ♥

I’m a capital-C Crazy writer, zinester, witch, identical twin, high school dropout, cane-user, cripple-goth, recovering alcoholic with seven years sober, and white non-binary amethyst-femme. I write about recovery with borderline personality disorder, complex-trauma, and fibromyalgia; writing, creativity, & friendship; disability & accessibility; politicizing recovery; magic & witchcraft & Tarot; self-care, support, & $upport; queer mad poor crip lineages; and surviving social assistance and poverty.

My work explores themes of loneliness, isolation, abandonment, and disposability; synchronicity, reciprocity, gratitude, joy, and meaning-making; and memory and making a home.

In 2012, I published an anthology of the first decade of my zines, Telegram: A Collection of 27 Issues, in 2013, I published my first novel, Ragdoll House, and in 2017, I published my second novel, We Are the Weirdos. I write zines, offer Tarot readings for misfits and outcasts, and publish a fortnightly-ish column on LittleRedTarot.com, See the Cripple Dance, on re-imagining Tarot through disability and madness.

I grew up in Lindsay, Ontario (Ojibway, Chippewa, and Anishinabek land), and currently live in Toronto, Ontario (traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and the Métis).

I’m a Libra Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Gemini Rising, with Venus in Libra, Mercury in Scorpio, and Chiron Retrograde in Gemini. I began reading Tarot in my mid-teens, and I view my recovery, my spirituality, and my madness as political. My Tarot readings are for weirdos, cripples, borderlines, mad folks, crazy people, disabled queers, medicated witches, trans folks, misfits, etc (P.S. There’s no such thing as being too weird or not weird enough.)

♥ What Kinds of Questions May I Ask? ♥

Please ask open-ended questions, not yes-or-no questions (ie, I cannot answer questions that begin with ‘Should I or shouldn’t I…?’ ‘Will I or won’t I…?'). The amount of information you provide me with (about your current situation, your past, what you want for the future, your fears, dreams, visions, personality traits, etc...) is up to you. Please keep in mind that I’ll need some context for your question, but not your entire life story. Also, please note the minimum and maximum word counts (elaborated below) for my readings.

My intent is to be open, validating, and encouraging in my readings with you – and maybe even a little challenging, too. You may have questions related to creativity, recovery, self-care, friendship, boundaries, self-expression... whatever! Along with a detailed reading and exploration of the imagery and meanings of the card(s) drawn, I'll be interpreting the possibilities in your specific situation, and offering you journal prompts as a way of further exploring the reading on your own time.

♥ How to Ask a Question ♥

Select the reading you wish to receive, and in the Notes to Seller box, please provide the information listed below, as well as your question. Your question can be as simple or as detailed as you feel comfy with. Tarot readings generally offer clarity on the situations, conditions, and influences going on in your life right now, with potential actions, ideas, and outcomes. I'm here to offer you guidance on the direction you may wish to travel, but all decisions are ultimately up to you.

♥ What Next? ♥

Within seven days, I'll email you y/our Tarot reading! Readings will be sent as text in the body of an email. 1-card readings will be 600 – 900 words, and 3-card readings will be 900 – 1,200 words. Photos of the card(s) drawn will be attached. I encourage you to save this email, print it out, and return to it as needed. Our readings our collaborations, and will remain confidential.

♥ Do You Do In-Person Readings? ♥

Sometimes. However, due to my ongoing struggles with surviving madness & chronic illnesses, the emotional labour and clock-time involved in reading Tarot can be difficult. Right now, I'm focusing on online readings as they are more accessible to me while I take care of my health, and I have significantly more experience connecting to energy long-distance, and, of course, through writing.

♥ A Few Other Notes ♥
Although I accept cash sent via snail mail for purchases of my books and zines on Etsy, I am only accepting payment via Paypal and Etsy Payments for Tarot readings at this time. Thank you for understanding.
