I think this bag is commonly known as a Coach Satchel. This bag is was being promoted as a "Woman's Briefcase" when I acquired it. According to my 1981 Coach Catalog, this bag was actually known as a Standard Slim Satchel Bag # 9430 (as opposed to a 'Compact Slim Satchel Bag # 9425).
The bag has double leather handles, a brass talon zipper, and an interior leather slip pocket or pouch. Even though its production predates the digital information age, the bag is functional in contemporary society. Its dimensions are suitable for carrying an Ipad, Kindle or other similar sized electronic notebook. My Galaxy S 4 fit perfectly in the interior pouch.
This bag can be used as either a tiny briefcase or a medium sized handbag. Either way it's a unique leather carrying case that will project both taste and individualistic style. It is unlikely that you will see anyone else carrying one of these at the same time you are.
This bag is in very good condition. The leather is soft and supple. No rips, tears, gouges or imprints. However, it does have some minor scuffing and slight wear on the corners.
Length: 13" (outside)
Height: 9" (outside)

New York City Coach Bag:
The Creed on this bag states it was manufactured in New York City which makes it one of the most sought after Coach products by collectors. NYC Bags are some of the highest quality Coach products. "New York City" bags were made in the original Coach factory in New York City that operated from the late 1960's through the mid 1980's. Some, but not all, of the Coach bags produced during this era were designed by the well known American designer Bonnie Cashin. Consequently, when you buy a New York City Coach bag you are buying more than an accessory, you are making a potential investment.
The statement on the creed: "Made in New York City, U.S.A." verifies this bag's origin. It is authenticated by Coach Bag registration number: 496-3139.
