Description

Antique Fine GRISWOLD Cast Iron Miniature Cob Shaped Corn Muffin Pan, Variation #1. This has been professionally cleaned and seasoned is ready to use. This pan has 7 tea sized corn stick baking molds. Griswold made 3 sizes of the corn stick pan. The 262 being the smallest size, the No. 273 being the middle size, and the no. 283 being the largest size. Excellent condition commensurate with age being an antique pan. This chrome piece does not need to be seasoned and would not hurt to use a little oil on it for baking, a beauty.

Markings - NO. 262 GRISWOLD CRISPY CORN OR WHEAT STICK PAN ERIE PA., U.S.A. 625

Dates - Manufactured between 1930-1950S.

Condition - Professionally Cleaned and Seasoned Organically using only food grade products with Organic Oil.
Our seasoning starts with a cleaned to the bare cast iron metal. This makes all our Cast Iron Free of Rust, Layers of Old Baked on Blackened Grease, Food, and Oil, No Breaks, Chips, Cracks or Repairs at all. This pan is in fine condition, extremely scarce to find and highly collectable. All our cast iron is ready for use right out of the box, from us to you. There are no signs of abuse to this pan.
A note for the collector. Griswold made one variation of this corn stick pan, the words 'ERIE PA., U. S. A.' are on it fully marked. After Griswold was sold to Wagner, the corn stick was made Without the words printed ERIE PA.,
U. S. A.

This scarce corn stick cast iron pan has been highly sought after as well as other Griswold pieces that are of higher value to the cast iron collector. The only way to check to know the difference between a real Griswold and a counterfeit pan is to look at the casting, on the letters, edges, and corn pattern. Griswold cast iron pieces are made with sharp crisp casting lines and letters. NO rough cast iron at all. They should be only smooth and clean looking. This one I am selling is the real deal. I have also seen some others being sold here on Etsy and on Ebay which the seller is claiming to be a real Griswold and are not. We being antique cast iron dealers for many years we are always on the look out for counterfeit reproductions and you will never find one in our shop.

Part of who we are, and why we do it our way.
We live in Northern Vermont and our farm is Vermont Certified Organic. We are members of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. We believe you are what you eat. So our aim is to do everything we can to promote good heathy living, whether for ourselves or for our customers.

We make our pure Vermont Maple Syrup here on our farm. We believe most (We cannot speak for others) pure Vermont Maple syrup is basically Organic and have chosen not to have our Sugar Bush certified organic, but we use all organic practices and never use any chemical, pesticide, or herbicide products on our trees or during the syrup boiling process at any time in our sugarhouse ever.

This takes you to our cast iron cookware explanation of: "Professionally Cleaned and Organically Seasoned". There are a lot of ways to clean and season cast iron. We have chosen to only use Organic and Food Grade cleaning and seasoning products. As stated above, you are what you eat. We also collect and use cast iron cook ware, it is cleaned and seasoned the same way that we offer it to you our customer. There is a very time consuming process to cleaning and seasoning cast iron. There is also the science and the chemistry behind the process and the products that one uses. You never just throw cast iron into a hot fire, good way to warp or crack it. There is chemistry at work in the products that one uses in cleaning and seasoning. You have cleaners that have high metals in them and are carcinogenic inside your body. You also have hard and soft oils, you need to know what polymerization is and so you need to start with the right cleaning products and finish with the right oil. We use an Organic Oil that is an Omega-3 Supplement.

Our care instructions will be included, how to use and care for your cast iron for years to come.

This Skillet will ship with insurance.
We do ship World Wide, please e-mail us for a shipping quote!

We describe items as honestly and thoroughly as possible~ Please take a look at all pictures and read the full descriptions carefully. When we describe the condition, we mean compared to anything else which is Old. Any Primitives, Antique or Vintage Treasures will have some sign's of character. This is because of it's age and usage which somebody has treasured dearly and saved from many earlier years. These items are not perfect nor brand new.
We do not claim to know every thing about what we sell. We do a lot of research on all items that we sell and that is the fun part! To know the what, where, how, and why of the items that we list. If we are not 100% sure what something is, we will use words like I believe, or something of that nature.
We have been hunting for treasures for over 35 years, but we are not as old as some of the items that we find and sell. It is also up to the buyer to do his or her research on what they are buying.
If you have any questions you can e-mail us, we will do our part to help any way that we can. If you see that we have a item for sale and are not sure what it really is and you know, we would love to here from you~ Thank you
