The Beauregard-Keyes House boasts many prominent residents including its namesakes Confederate General P.G.T. (Pierre Gustave Toutant) Beauregard, who famously ordered the first shots of the Civil War and Frances Parkinson Keyes, an author of over fifty books a century later.
