Description: Under / Over, by Danielle Zaccagnino. Printed in Lombard, Illinois by Bitterzoet Press, 2015. One edition of 12. 6.5 x 5 in., 5 poems. Brown or dark yellow coverstock covering red or maroon coverstock (colors vary slightly) and bound by orange wax thread and tied with two small, red bells. $5

Author’s Bio: Danielle Zaccagnino holds a BS from NYU and has worked as an editor, an educator, and a massage therapist. She is currently working towards an MFA in Creative Writing at Texas State University.

Editor’s Note: Danielle’s poems immediately set you in place with a “you”. Her poems talk to you directly and you, in turn, become her poems. They take you in at each turn. It’s impossible to resist. And then a little bell rings. And you wake up. I kept thinking of the title when constructing the cover. It reminds me of when you skin your knee as a kid. I remember how fast the under became the over, the skin became red and bloody. The first part of healing is always a scab. Pick at these poems and see what you are made of.
