Acrylic yarn is an affordable option for people with an aversion or sensitivity to animal fibers. Acrylic yarn is very soft and easy to care for. Acrylic mittens are machine washable
(gentle cycle cold water recommended) tumble dry on lowest setting.

Wool is warmer and provides a bit more water resistance. When properly cared for, wool tends to be more durable. Wool mittens must be hand washed (cold water) and dried flat.
