Set of five fabulous vintage 1940's frosted blue willow tumblers. These glasses feature the historically familiar blue willow pattern, enameled in cobalt over a frosted base.

Blue Willow is the story of Chang and Koong-see, forbidden lovers who were united in tragedy and transformed by the gods into immortal doves. If you look on the bridge, the three figures represent Koong-see, Chang, and Koong-see's mad mandarin father in pursuit. Somehow, I don't think Grandma knew her beloved Sunday table settings of blue willow were inspired by this story...

Glasses have the Federal Glass shield mark on the bottom. They measure 4 3\/4" tall and 2 3\/4" across, and hold approximately 8 oz. Both glass and patterns are in lovely vintage condition.

Ships by priority mail, insurance is included.
