The pattern for this half yard of hand dyed batik fabric derives from Roman mosaic tile in Nimes, France. In this contemporary rendition, I've paired this classic motif with the rich, rustic color of old terracotta pots. My inspiration for this color is Tricia Guild's book "Tricia Guild on Color". The section on Terracotta has wonderful photos and suggestions on combining terracotta fabric with black, lime green and other vivid hues.

I hand waxed this Pimatex cotton (130 by 72 threadcount) with a stamp of my own creation. The fabric measures 58" wide by 19" long. Each tile motif is 2.75" square. The fabric is colorfast in 120 degree water.

**Please note: if you have purchased this pattern before, the color of this piece will not exactly match your previous purchase. Since most pieces are dyed one at a time, It is impossible to exactly replicate every dyebath, even when using the exact same dye hue.

If you are interested in purchasing yardage that is dyed in the same dyebath, custom orders are welcome!
