Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, or walnut for extra $250). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $80, you can choose from a wide range of colors of dye.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 1" below the top of the sides; slat top about 14" above the floor. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos that attaches to the lower head and foot board. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The bottom of the sides and end boards are about 9" above the floor and are about 6" tall.

The head post top and head rail top is about 41" above the floor. The space from the top of the side board to the bottom of the head board is about 4.5".

The length is about 5" longer than the mattress. The width is about 3" wider than the mattress.

The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.

Shipping costs are not automatically calculated by your zip code. The United States shipping cost is the 48 state base cost to which a regional adder must be applied.
