Description

This cork trivet is named for the three corks in the top left corner, La Crosse, Da Vinci, Black Mountain. I take delight in each and every trivet I make, because there are no two alike. Since some wineries no longer bottle their wines with natural corks, switching to synthetic stoppers, some of the corks I have used in my trivets are truly collector’s items! I only use corks that are 100% natural. Look closely at the arrangement in this trivet, and then look at some of the other ones I am offering to find the perfect combination you are looking for!

For a great gift idea, you might want to consider making this trivet the center attraction in a wine-themed gift basket, with a bottle of your favorite wine, a couple of beautiful stemmed glasses, a set of glass charms, and other little, fun wine-themed trinkets! This would also make a lovely hostess gift if you're invited to dinner at someone's home. It's beautiful yet purposeful. Any other ideas?

The frame is 100% wood with rustic dark wood stain and varnish. Because of the natural materials used in these trivets, there will be imperfections to the wood grain and in the corks themselves. That is what I think adds to the unique charm of each, individual one. The 9” x 9” wooden tray is covered on the back with brown felt to keep the trivet from scratching table surfaces. I use one of my trivets myself everyday on the kitchen table to protect it from hot dishes. You can put hot bowls, plates, and dishes on the trivet, but I don’t recommend taking a pot right from the stove onto the corks as they are a natural material and might discolor. I recommend only wiping the surface with a damp towel if it becomes a little dusty from everyday use. If you wish to use this trivet as wall décor, you can simply get a saw tooth picture hanger and nail it to the back.

Whether you're shopping for yourself or a wine-loving friend, these trivets are definitely conversation pieces. Guests in my home comment on mine, discussing different wines they've tasted or wineries they've visited. I hope you find one that is just what you're looking for! I keep making these all the time, so check back often at the new combinations of corks!
If you want to buy more than one cork trivet, please ask me to calculate combined shipping for you! The shipping prices listed are for USPS Priority 2-3 day delivery.

Shipping policies

PLEASE NOTE: Because I use FedEx to ship most heavier items, please leave a delivery phone number when placing an order in a "Note to Seller" or by contacting me directly after you place your order, so FedEx can contact you if there is a question. Thanks!

I try to keep shipping and handling costs fair and reasonable, and I want your items to arrive safe and sound. Please read below:

* FedEx - my preferred shipper for most heavy, large, or bulky items and those items that are going to a farther distance. Please provide a phone number upon purchase for the FedEx shipping label. Also, if this is going to a business address, please notify me. Packages usually arrive within 4 days, even if going across the country. More local destinations will arrive even more quickly.

*USPS Priority - I use USPS Priority for lighter weight items, those going to nearby locations, or those I send in padded envelopes. I can also use this for an additional charge for heavy items to get them to you faster. Please contact me if you have questions.

•I currently ship only to the 48 contiguous United States. I will consider shipping to Alaska, but the cost of shipping can vary depending on location. Please contact me if you live in Alaska and want to buy an item; I can find out the shipping cost and let you know what it would be.

•Sorry for any inconvenience, but I do not ship to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, P.O. Boxes, APO and FPO addresses.

•I pack each item with the utmost care to ensure it arrives to your home in the great condition it left mine. I do my best to use shipping methods that are economical but secure to get the package to you safely. I try to reuse shipping materials whenever possible to reduce waste.

•I do not offer combined shipping on heavy items, such as garden art, because I want to ensure the item arrives safely. Too much weight in one box is not a good idea! However, for some of my other items, I will consider combining shipping, on an item by item basis. Please contact me to discuss.

• FedEx doesn't actually insure their items, but they do include an automatic declared value of $100 (unless I enter a higher value), should the item get lost or broken in shipment. Again, I pack my orders with such care, I do not anticipate any issues. All items shipped via USPS are covered with insurance, whenever possible, to cover any possible breakage; however, I do pack each item “like a cocoon”, so it should arrive in wonderful shape! The shipping cost includes the cost of shipping and handling materials. Please contact me immediately if there was an issue during shipping.

•If you live locally in Tri Cities area of Tennessee, we can arrange for local pick instead of shipping the order to you. Please contact me to discuss.

•Please contact me if you have any questions about shipping methods or costs.
