Great for a ghostly floating globe for Halloween, put them on your Christmas tree to have it glow after you turn off the lights, or just enjoy them along with a celestial theme year round. Collect all 4 colors! All varieties will be white in daylight but glow different colors at night.

This hand blown glass ornament is made in my glass studio. I gather 2100 degree Fahrenheit molten glass onto a blow pipe where I add the glow pigment and blow it into the spherical shape. At the end I add a dollop of molten glass to make the loop at the top. Each piece is annealed in a kiln where it slowly comes back down to room temperature. I can't see the final piece until the next day.

Charge the globes in light and then take them into the dark. The glow can be charged by sunlight, UV (black) light, or even a regular light bulb. The glow will be intense at first then gradually decrease to a light glow for hours off of one charge. They work best when taken from light directly to a dark place (turning off the lights after a charge works). It will not glow if just left in a window because the gradual setting of the sun will not be a fast enough transition to the dark. These only glow in the dark.

Each piece is individually hand made for you. There will be slight variation in shape and size. You can order small (2 1/4" to 3") or standard (3" to 5")

Frequently asked questions about GoFetchGlass

The material I use to make the Galaxy Globes is a glow in the dark substance that will require charging by light and then taken into the dark. Unfortunately the sun sets too slowly to just hang the Galaxy Globe in the window or set outside and see it glow after sunset. However, if you hang the Galaxy Globe in a window or outside in proximity to a light it will glow when you turn off the light, after dark. The Galaxy Globe will also glow extremely bright if you have a UV (black light) shine on it.
