Description

Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga ‘Flavida’

Family - Crassulaceae

Common name – finger aloe, Grey sticks, Cotyledon Mr Butterfield

Description

This is an attractive succulent from South Africa, with long grey-green to almost chalky white leaves that could be described as finger-like. The long leaves are quite thick, and have a fine red line along their margins.

The plant forms a neat mounded shrub, which could be described as a ground cover, growing approx. 50cm wide by 40cm in height. Wonderful as a border or second line garden plant, or in a pot as a feature. This plant is easy to grow, ideal in the garden in full sun to part shade. My plants grow in morning shade and then full afternoon sun (+40 degrees in summer) in an exposed position (receives frosts to -3 in winter) and are very happy. Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga has very low water requirements, surviving on rainfall once established.

The plant flowers during summer with tubular shaped peach coloured flowers carried in clusters at the end of a long stalk above the shrub. These flowers attract bees and birds for their pollen.

You will receive 1 plant of good quality, the plant will not be potted, to reduce postage costs, however the roots will be carefully wrapped and protected. Plant as soon as possible in the garden or a pot, into well draining soil. Water then leave until dry before watering again.

Sorry no postage to WA, TAS or NT due to quarantine restrictions.

Any questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for looking at my plants, I am happy to combine postage so please look my other listings if interested.

Pretty tough plants.
