Emerson Reserve, All Natural Soap, Handmade Soap, Cold Process Soap, Bar Soap, Vegan Soap

Inspired deeply by Ralph Waldo Emerson's reflections on nature, this bar is an attempt to encapsulate and express an appreciation for that beauty that surrounds us - in the crispness of the autumn air, to the majesty of the White Mountains - to the songs of crickets on a summer night. My hope was to find a blend in this recipe that captured this fundamental essence - which Emerson so eloquently describes below when he writes the following:

"The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence. Nature never wears a mean appearance. Neither does the wisest man extort her secret, and lose his curiosity by finding out all her perfection. Nature never became a toy to a wise spirit. The flowers, the animals, the mountains, reflected the wisdom of his best hour, as much as they had delighted the simplicity of his childhood." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

It is in this spirit, and his honor, that I call this bar "The Emerson Reserve" - a very small batch, that took much exploration and experimentation to achieve - but alas, it now has reached the place I sought after - and now, I proudly make it available to you.

This all natural bar brings together a series of elements that culminate in a beautifully balanced, highly harmonious bar - using a blend of pure essential oils, you'll find subtle tones of citrus in the form of lemon and grapefruit - as well as earth-bound elements from cedarwood and lavender rooted in with hints of chamomile. Dig deeper and you may discover whispers of spearmint - but only enough to complement the overall blend. This bar also includes bentonite clay (aged volcanic ash) which is known to aid in removing toxins and impurities from the skin. Overall, this is one of my more complex recipes, that has culminated in a very beautiful balance that is as much invigorating as it is soothing and reaffirming.
