These pieces are universal and can be used in a multitude of piercings including Triple Forward Helix, Nose, Cartilage, Tragus, and More! This piece features a 2.5mm "micro" back disc perfect for hiding in the fold of the ear for a forward helix or as a safe alternative to nose bones (nose bones cause micro tares in piercing when inserting/removing and are not a recommend style of stud). Please note that some clients can not use 2.5mm back discs for oral/soft tissue piercings. If you tend to play/suck/constantly move your soft tissue piercing (Lip area) or if the piercing has a lot of play then the 2.5mm back disc is not meant for your piercing. Please inquire about our 16g version of this piece with 4mm back discs fro Medusa, Lip, Monroe or other soft tissue piercings.

If inserting at home it is beyond important to always wear latex gloves for proper grip. Professional piercing artists always wear gloves for insertion/piercings for proper grip as well as sterility. Your body produces natural oils on your hands and piercing area that will cause the jewelry to spin in your fingertips/piercing before it is fully threaded down. With gloves on your studs will pop right open and fully thread back down. For insertion the gloves are one of the only ways to hold the back disc ( a firm amount of pressure with your fingertip to will keep it from spinning in most cases in awkward areas such as a nostril or helix sometimes it is best to hold the back disc with Brass tipped professional piercing pliers). The smooth metal setting around the gem will also spin before it is fully tightened with out gloves. In the case of a prong setting the setting itself gives you grip on the gem top, but gloves will be needed to hold the back disc. This tip is true of all threaded jewelry and will save you a lot of part loss over the lifetime of your piercings. Granted anything that screws can come unscrewed, but this is the only way to have a excellent chance of keeping the jewelry in until when you want to change/clean it. When quality jewelry is inserted properly it usually takes gloves to unscrew the piece when it is time to remove or clean the jewelry or is will feel "stuck" closed again.
Remember that latex gloves should..well..fit like a glove! If they are too loosey goosey the will get in the way or twisted up in the jewelry. If they are too tight they cut off the circulation and you loose the feeling in our fingertips..which is never fun when you are holding tiny object! If you hate how latex gloves feel then insert the jewelry and use latex gloves for the final tightening only. You can not get away from the gloves, but it is not necessary to wear them for the whole process.
Also, Pliers on gem tops is a no no because they can dent/scratch and open the settings and pliers can have enough mechanical force to bend the threading or break off the gem top in the post..and if the pliers slip off the gem top and manage to squeeze down on the post it will dent it rather easily because the posts are hollow.
When inserting at home it is very important to put a towel in the sink (this deters the drain monster) it will keep gems from going down the drain or from bouncing out.

All of our body jewelry, unless specified, is made with Top Quality 316L or 316LVM Surgical Steel, Implant Grade titanium or 14k Gold which is safe for initial as well as healed piercing use. Jewelry is sold new and unused but please be advised that they are NOT sterile. The only way to fully sterilize jewelry is to autoclave the product. We suggest before inserting any new jewelry to wash it with Dial anti-bacterial soap (be careful not to wash it down the drain!) and then a warm water rinse.
