This beautiful round platter or chop plate is Japanese-made, and quite rare-- the pattern was manufactured for only one year in the mid-80s. It features a crisp white center with a pale, creamy tan band around the outer rim. Striping around the outer and inner edges is a reddish chocolate brown, along with a thin white accent stripe.

One of the things that makes this pattern unique is the combination of high-gloss glaze along with a matte finish glaze. The main food area is bright and glossy, while the backs and outer band are matte. It has a Danish Modern look, both in the simple beauty of the design, and also in the way the plates are constructed, with the main food area inset deeply to keep dinner from skiing off the edge.

Excellent vintage condition... showing a few light utensil marks but no damage. Colors and glaze are still gorgeous, back and front. Measures approximately 12" in diameter.
