Description

The Front & Back of the Label reads:
___

SELF-ABSORBED
(7 Sequential Stickers)
Illuminating the Mental Disappearance of the "Present" Citizen
___

Instructions (for the anarchist):
1} Find a public area where citizens tend to be absorbed in the technological force
2} Place stickers in sequence on the public piece in a nonchalant and discrete fashion
3} Photograph your work attempting to include the disappearing citizens
4} Submit your image to: disappearingminds [!at] gmail.com
5} Enjoy seeing our collaboration: self-absorbed-project.tumblr.com
___

These stickers are meant to be placed by You, the Illuminator, in a public area where people seem to "disappear" in the midst of their technological devices.
Or.
You can most definitely choose to slap 'em where ever your heart truly desires!

Self-Absorbed is a project I started in a Public Art course at CSULB. The assignment was to involve your work with the public space while creating a dialogue with that area.

The original piece is painted on 3 ft. x 3 ft. separate pieces of canvas. They were hung within the school on the back of a bench, photographed with many students who gradually ended up on their phones, computers, etc. even though they all sat next to each other.

You can view a hi-res version of the project here:
