What is more welcome after a long day's drive than a hospitable inn or restaurant?

Starting in 1946, after WWII, Ford Motor Company began publishing books highlighting restaurants along U.S. driving routes. This hardback book is a first printing of the fifth edition, copyright 1968. "A traveler's guide to good eating at home and on the road."

Divided into regions, the book features original art and descriptions of hundreds of notable eateries across the U.S. AND recipes from each one...362 in all.

While many of these restaurants have gone the way of 34-cents-a-gallon gasoline, for the reader-of-a-certain-age, this volume is a trip down memory lane.
