In the first pages of A Moveable Feast, Ernest Hemingway's memoir of his time living in Paris, is printed one of the most beautiful literary passages ever written on the experience of enjoying oysters:

"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans."

We partnered with Janice Reyes of Handmade Letters to interpret this evocative passage, and screen printed it on hand towels to be used in the kitchen, as napkins at the dining table, as hand protection when shucking your own oysters, a literary stocking stuffer, or even as gift wrap.

Enjoy this towel yourself, or give it to a friend. Be happy. Make plans.

I may be biased (because I really, really love any and all apparel / home decor with book passages) but this is an absolute beauty. The towel itself is very well constructed- it's one you can actually use, unlike some other printed towels I've bought that are tissue paper thin. The ink is really high quality- a bit of silver sheen, but not glittery or cheesy, and the hand lettered calligraphy- I mean, COME ON. I can't wait to hang this on the handle of my bar cart and bask in all the compliments.
