Description

This is my original, one of a kind dark brown and gold polymer clay snake centerpiece strung with tortoiseshell brown vintage German pressed glass beads and amber Czech pressed glass beads. Like the rest in this line, the snake is fairly abstract and very adorable.

As with cane-worked polymer clay pieces, I worked the patterns on the snake by hand using different colors of polymer clay. There are "trade secrets" to how I get these intricate patterns in my pieces, but know that there is no paint or other surface material on the clay.

The extender piece allows the necklace to be worn at two lengths, as shown in the last two photos.

The earrings shown in the first two photos are included with the necklace. They have gold-plated base metal kidney wires.

Durability:

This is a rugged piece built to hold up to normal use for many years. I use strong, high-quality polymer clay. This piece is strung on "beading wire," 39-strand wire cable covered in nylon, which is both strong and flexible. The piece has gold-plated lobster claw clasps and gold-tone necklace split rings, on the main piece and on the necklace extender. The centerpiece has steel armature wire embedded in it at all of the major joints.

Measurements:

The necklace is about 19" long without the necklace extender and 24" long with it. To most of the world that translates to about 48.5 cm without the extender and 61 cm with it.

The polymer clay snake centerpiece is about 3" at the tallest point, 1 1/2" at widest, and 3/8" thick. That's about 7 1/2 cm at tallest, 4 cm wide, and more than 1 cm thick.
