In January of 2015, I participated in a project where the goal was to produce one piece of artwork per day for the entire month. I decided my series was going to be illustrations of a selection of the enemy characters from the classic Nintendo Video Game Super Mario Bros. 3

This listing is for "Iggy Koopa" - the Koopaling boss that Mario faces at the end of World 4.

Each illustration is an Acrylic painting on a 3.5 inch square piece of wood. The wood is approximately 5/8" thick and was reclaimed from old shelves from my 1925 house. This old board wood has a wonderful tight grain that lends a lot of texture and character to each painting. The paintings are thick enough to stand by themselves on a shelf, but are also each equipped with a small metal d-ring that can be used to hang the block on a hook or nail.

Many of the paintings were sold immediately after the show, but about half of them are still available. You can get a look at the whole display from show in the photos above, or see what's left for purchase in my shop's "Mario" section.
