Description

When I was playing High School basketball, I drew Nike swooshes on plain white tube socks with a black, permanent marker. I also crafted “Puma” and “XJ-900” socks. My artwork was not convincing; and back then, Puma was about as popular as Payless. My message to the world then is my message to the world now: you are not made better or worse by the labels you wear.

Clothes are intended to express who we are, but often express who we are not: those who believe their athleticism to be inadequate are ever wearing sports gear; those who feel marginalized or abnormal wear only the common brands, while those who feel themselves superior to the majority wear only the uncommon brands, each a symptom of the same disease; those who feel worth less wear the more expensive brands.

eek bin promotes conscious clothing. As we discover ourselves, some labels are discarded and the permanent ones only paint a portion of our complete Self-portrait. Labels are snap shots – single moments designed to communicate what’s alive in us now. You are both the artist and the art, and our signature shirt embodies this truth spoken by Ben Shahn, “I believe that if it were left to artists to choose their own labels, most would choose none.” Wear our signature shirt on those days when you defy description.

eek bin’s signature shirt comes simply with the standard “eek bin” on the sleeve, while the front and back are left blank. Pick your color and style and we'll supply you from our stock of über comfortable Ts. Or, send in your favorite, most comfy, blank T along with $10, and we’ll send it back with our logo.
