Description

Product Code- SIA-PT-59

This Miniature Painting is of Indian Army Man Playing Bagpiper, Parading while playing the bagpipes is the cadet of 4oth Pathan regiment of the Bengal Infantry. The dull, ochre uniform is concealed by an overcloth of brightly coloured strips. The bag of the musical instrument matches with the colour of the turban. The wind instrument is totally alien to India. The turban is typically Pathani in style. The uniform is quite different to those of swift and alert. This member playing the bagpipes can afford to be lax, hence the loose and comfortable dress. A long dragger discreetly peeps out from below the shawl. His shadow falls on the ground as he walks. There is no scope for bright colours in this portrait. The dull effect of the mud brown clothes has been cleverly over shadowed by the bright colours used for the stripes of the shawl.

This is a Handmade Indian Miniature Painting on Handmade Paper with the use of Other materials like Selfmade Brushes from Squirrels Hairs, Moulded Wooden Frame (without glass) & Paper Mounting. This is a centuries old rare art and will adorn any decor and is ideal for Display, Collection & Gifting purpose. This Painting is made by Mr. Tilak Gitai who is a renowned artist from Jaipur, India and has got many prestigious awards & recognition in India & abroad for his work. India has been the home of arts and crafts since primitive times and painting is no exception to this fact. Indians knew the art of painting since prehistoric times. Indian paintings like Miniatures paintings, Thangka paintings, Madhubani paintings, Warlis paintings, Tanjore paintings and various others are now an art freak's greatest temptation. Painted geometric designs and symbols have also been found on pottery items belonging to the Indus valley civilization, while the medieval period is remembered for the Persian styled miniature paintings introduced by the Mughals.
