•Erté was an illustrator, a fashionista and a stage set designer who lived to be nearly 98. Born in Russia, he made his mark in France and the United States. Art Deco, closely identified with industry and the machine age, has regained popularity in our era. Erté's fanciful designs speak for themselves.
