Description
A shawlette/scarf knitted sideways in one piece with
written and charted instructions.
There are two different ways of blocking this shawlette/scarf. One is for length and the other is for depth.
Blocking measurements are at the end of the pattern.
Length - Finished size is 22cm/8.5ins deep at the widest point and 178cm/70ins length.
Depth - Finished size is 30cm/12ins deep at the widest point and 160cm/63ins length.
Materials
4mm/US 6 circular needle or a pair of 4mm/US 6 straight needles.
100g/4oz of Meraki Studio Silkweb 50% merino/50% silk yarn in 4ply/fingering weight. Approximately 400m/438y.
Colourways used in photos are
Glamourpuss (Gold)
Midnight (Blue)
1 stitch marker.
Yarn needle for sewing in ends.
A blocking mat and pins for blocking.
Abbreviations
C4B - slip next 2 stitches onto cable needle and hold at back of work, work next 2 stitches off left hand needle, then knit the next 2 stitches off the cable needle, C4F - slip next 2 stitches onto cable needle and hold at front of work, work next 2 stitches off left hand
needle,then knit the next 2 stitches off the cable needle, k - knit, k2tog - knit the next 2 stitches together, kfab - knit into the front and the back of the next stitch, p - purl, p2tog - purl the next 2 stitches together, pm - place marker, rep - repeat, sm - stitch marker,

Gauge/Tension
22 sts and 48 rows to 10cm/4ins over garter stitch on 4mm/US 6 needles unblocked. Gauge/tension is not crucial.
Note: To get the most of your skein weigh it before starting. You will use 25% of your yarn for the increase section, 50% for the straight section and 25% for the decrease section.
