A riot of red distinguishes this trio of needle felted mushroom ornaments. In autumn these three blaze against the fresh green moss on the damp forest floor! I strive to replicate the characteristics of the actual specimens as faithfully as I can when creating my wild mushrooms. From the delicate layering of colored wool to spore surfaces individually needled with the tiniest of lamb locks and gills cut from wool I have wet felted into thin sheets, you'll find the fine details that make each mushroom a keepsake.
Here in the Pacific Northwest the forest comes alive with all sorts of delightful fungi after a little rainfall. Mushrooms of every shape, color and size decorate the forest floor and inspired me to needle felt a few of the species I find to bring the joy of an autumn jaunt to your home and mine!
This listing is for three needle felted hanging ornaments approximately 4 1/2" long. Each ornament is made from a select variety of wool rovings and locks specially chosen to represent the textures found in the forest. Each includes a bit of " forest remnant" at the base in the form of sheep's' wool "moss" and "soil", as though the mushroom was freshly plucked from the woods . Glass dewdrops glisten, clinging in nooks and crannies . See my other listings for more species and fill your mushroom basket!
